Directions to Camp Alpine




Itinerary:

Wednesday ,September 27th

- Bring your bag or bags to the field house by 6:30 PM. 

- Please eat dinner before you arrive.

-  The buses WILL leave promptly at 7:00 PM


Thursday, September 28th

-  Wake up at 7:30 AM

-  Breakfast at 8:00 AM

-  Rotation of scheduled activities including ropes courses, canoeing/kayaking, climbing,                                                 primitive living skills, and hiking.

-  Lunch at 11:30 AM

-  Scheduled activities

-  Dinner at 7:00 PM

-  Free time in the gym at 8:30 PM

-  Lights out at 11:00 PM


Friday, September 29th

-  Wake up at 7:30 AM

-  Breakfast at 8:00 AM

-  Rotation of scheduled activities including ropes courses, canoeing/kayaking, climbing, primitive living skills, and hiking.

-  Lunch at 11:30 AM

-  Scheduled activities end at 5:30

-  Clean cabins and camp grounds

-  Load buses and depart hopefully by 6:00 PM

-  Arrive at Baylor around 7:30 PM

Clothing and Gear List:

We realize some dorm students may not have sleeping bags with them at Baylor.  If you can not locate or borrow a sleeping bag, please make a specific request by e-mail to Tim Williams by September 6th.  Walkabout can provide a limited number of sleeping bags.


1-bathing suit

-underwear

3 -pairs of socks

1-pair of athletic shoes

1-pair of shoes you don’t mind getting wet (river shoes or old athletic shoes)

2-pairs of shorts

1-pair of long loose fitting pants

3-t-shirts

1-long sleeve shirt

1-wool or synthetic(pile) pullover or jacket

-RAIN GEAR – WATERPROOF RAINCOAT OR PONCHO

1-flashlight or headlamp with new batteries

1-water bottle (1qt. or larger Gatorade bottles work well)

1-sleeping bag and pillow

1-towel

-toothbrush, toothpaste, soap

1-large duffel bag, athletic bag, or similar piece of luggage


IMPORTANT:


-Do NOT bring iPods, mp3 players, cd players, TVs, cellular phones, electronic games, iPods, or snack food.  Confiscated cell phones may be picked up in the dean’s office the week after the trip.

2017 Freshman Trip information

With the addition of boarding students and the transition into upper school, the freshman year is a pivotal time in developing relationships with classmates, faculty, and older students. During the Freshman Trip , thirty-five older students guide the freshman class through two days and nights of outdoor adventures, square dancing, and most importantly – the profound opportunity to relax together.
